Sedation/anxiolysis

Sedation/anxiolysis are terms used for series of small pills given to a patient to relax them and relieve their anxiety before and during a dental procedure. Used in medicine for many years, it has just recently been adapted for dentistry. During the procedure the patient is still awake and responds, but is in a dream like state. The next day the patient feels perfectly fine and has little or no memory of the procedure.
